Our Team: Our team will consist of 8 to 10 members (6 members riding in the Valkyrie 2 providing air support and 2 as back-ups in case other members cannot attend during operations). Note that this operation requires a minimum of 6 members in the Valkyrie at all times. If the number of members in the Valkyrie falls below 6, it is expected that members in supplemental roles abandon them and rejoin the main crew.
Membership in the unit is limited to 12 max (8-10 + backups for weeks when people can't be online).
Vehicle Load Out: We will be running a full Valkyrie (6 man crew) consisting of a pilot (engineer/heavy assault with AA rocket launcher), a gunner (engineer/dropper), 2 dedicated droppers (light assault/heavy assault) and 2 dedicated engineers. We will be running AMS/spawn logistics, the wire-guided missile, maximum composite armor and maximum racer frame.
If back-up members are available, we will be running an ammo/repair Sunderer or multiple Scythes for air support.
Drop Crew Load Out: Depending on the role each member plays, a specific load out will be recommended:
Light Assault: Max level jump jets, smoke grenades, adrenaline pump and 2 sticks of C4.
Heavy Assault: Maxed grenade bandolier with AV grenades, dumb fire rocket launcher, a silenced weapon and 2 sticks of C4.
Engineer (as dropper): Maxed grenade bandolier with frag grenades and either 2 sticks of C4 or tank mines.
Engineer (as dropper alt): Maxed utility pouch with frag grenades and either 4 sticks of C4 or tank mines.
Engineer (as repairer): Maxed out repair gun, tank mines, flak armor.
Operations: Our main tactic is to approach the priority target in such a way as to offer us the element of surprise (usually from the side or rear). Our approach will usually depend on the nature of our target.
Stationary target: On approach, the gunner will unleash several missiles into the target. As the Valkyrie passes over, the drop squad will drop from the Valkyrie and attack the target. If the gunner is a member of the drop squad, they will drop with the drop crew to provide extra fire support. If the gunner is an engineer, they will either remain in the gun as the Valkyrie sweeps for an additional pass or switch seats to provide additional repair support (depends on the level of anti-air resistance).
Moving target: The Valkyrie will maintain assault distance from the moving target, attempting to dispatch it with the wire-guided missile. If the target is protected by strong anti-air resistance, the Valkyrie will sweep past the target and drop its members a fair distance ahead, allowing them to ambush the target while it is continuing to chase the Valkyrie.
Playbook: During specific situations, a play may be called that best accomplishes our goal.
VENGEANCE: Uh oh… someone’s in trouble! This is our namesake play. This play is called if there is a target which has been frustrating us or has killed all of our members in a drop. Barring any impending orders from command, the sole focus of Vengeance squad is to seek and destroy. This play only stops when a new target is called by command or the target dies!
Hail Mary (suicide mission): All members of the crew (including pilot) redeploy as either a heavy or light assault. When the Valkyrie is over the target, all members drop and destroys as much armor as possible. This play can be used on a heavily guarded Sunderer or also on a large, stationary column of armor.
Triple Threat (single drops in order): In a situation where multiple AA/AI turrets need to be destroyed. Three members of the crew take turns dropping on a single turret each and redeploying once it is destroyed. This allows for someone to be constantly available to drop on the next target.
Raid Attendance: Given our small squad composition, it is VERY important that we know in advance if members will not be able to attend raid.
Therefore, we will ask that all members who cannot attend either use the F.E.A.R. “cannot attend raid†post or send a PM to Vengeance leadership.
