Three-Story

This is the only building in the game with three accessible floors - two internal and the roof. It usually features a balcony that opens from the middle floor.

Powerhouse

This building usually houses a generator on the bottom floor. It features a short stairway, a longer stairway, and the top floor contains two identical doors.

Crescent

Hey, it looks like a crescent. Surprise surprise. Sometimes a Crescent building will be attached to a Powerhouse, with the walkways leading into the Powerhouse's double doors.

Mez / Mezzanine

On the outside, this is a nondescript rectangular building with the identifying three dark rectangles on the minimap icon (see below). Inside, it features two floors. The top floor is an open "mezzanine" area that looks down onto the bottom floor.

L-Shaped

It's a building that's shaped like the letter "L" in the English language. The future is now, guys.

Offset

When something is "offset" it means it doesn't line up properly or is a bit misshapen. Much like this building

"Wind-up" or "Spiral"

The only thing inside this building is a single spiral staircase. Hence the name "Spiral". Also known as a "Wind-up" because when you wind something up, you're turning it in a spiral, like a child's wind-up toy or a hand crank.

Longhouse

A long, single story building. Inspired by a Native American structure of the same name.

Chevron

A chevron is like an arrow point (like this: > ) and that's what this building looks like.

Square

Hey look, it's a square. The only perfect square building in the game.

Shack

We call it what it is. "Shack" sounded better than "Hut".

WHOO HOO! I like this!

Note: there are two Arbies that have been discovered. The big one on Indar and the small one in the middle of Esamir. There used to be one on Amerish but they removed it. I haven't found one one on Hossin.
Has anyone else found another one? They are a chain after all!

You know we haven't had a Ghost island fight in a long long time. Is it still possible to set that up. Should we make a SFR for it.

Ghost Island? As in setting up a battle island fight with SOE?

Not a battle island - for a long time there was a small island just off the mainland of one of the continents, Esamir I think, where we could go and just set up a bunch of flak and AV, then wait for the enemy to come and try to expel us.

They sunk Ghost Island in an update last year. :(

It was in a bay on the north Amerish coast. My youtube chan has recorded for posterity our landing there. It was just north of the base called NC somethin or rather, just west of Sungrey.

Ah here it is:

WHAT DO WE CALL THIS!
Everytime I try to call one out, I yell an ambiguous term that doesnt make sense.
Just wondering if we have a specific term for this structure.
We cant simply call it a tower, so much else is called a "tower."Planetside-2-tower.jpg

I usually call that a "guard tower" or "wall tower", to distinguish it from the towers that are in facilities.

This is a terrible affront that will be rectified. Good catch.

We still need Arby's. I'm getting hungry.

If its a tower not attached to any facilities then it is an Outpost Tower. any towers attached to a facility next to a gate is gate tower, and any tower at a facility not at a gate is a guard tower.

At least that's what I read in the beginning of PS2 but things have changed much since then. It does make sense but so many names for towers ..I guess if everyone knew and used the names frequently enough it would help out in giving directions quickly.

@Honda Yeah, I would much rather have one name. Guard tower reminds me of the towers on which gun emplacements sit. In certain bases, there are towers that contain no gun emplacement, and can fit a small group of people, and those look more like guard towers  to me.

I think I will incorporate "Wall Tower," into my tactical lexicon.
Thanks for the feedback gentlemen.
