Preface:
Failure to live up to the Pillars is grounds for removal from the outfit. Another leading offense for removal is poor attitude. We require a positive position in all things we do, from the highest ranked officer to our regular members as well. If this becomes a problem, you will be warned, and we will also try to help you deal with whatever it is that is causing a problem for you. If, however, there are repeat offenses, a suspension or possible removal may be deemed appropriate.
The Foundation: Officers
We are the foundation of the outfit upon which the pillars rest. If the foundation is flawed the Pillars will be crooked and the building will collapse. We cannot expect our troops to do anything we aren't already doing. We must be examples of what the outfit should be. We must treat our troops with respect, and earn their respect.
Pillar 0: Real Life comes before Planetside
If you'd rather be doing something else, go do that. If your mind is on finances, getting laid, homework or some other game, go deal with that. If your dog is eating the couch or you have spouse aggro, go deal with that. If your choosing between a night out with friends or playing PS, go have a drink and pour one on the curb for us. If your head isn't in the game you'll be a less effective player. You'll be annoyed with your performance and so will everyone else. You'll resent the game and the outfit for keeping you from having some other kind of fun or dealing with your real life responsibilities. No outfit officer or member will give you grief for putting your life first. Take a night off. We are all friends here and friends support each other. There is no such thing as spare time. Every minute you spend is gone forever. Spend it wisely. We'll be here when you get back!
Pillar 1: The Forums
Our Forums are the lifeblood of our outfit. It is how we plan, inform, organize and execute operations of the most diverse outfit in all of Planetside. You will be expected to take part in the forums if nothing more than to stay informed of what is going on. However, you are encouraged to participate in posting to your fullest ability. Activity is also a consideration for advancement in rank within the outfit, if that is an avenue you wish to pursue.
Pillar 2: Voice Communication (Mumble)
You MUST have Mumble installed on your system to be a member. There are those here that will help with any problems you may have, so technical difficulties are not a consideration. A small few special exceptions can be made, ask an officer if you have any doubts. You are not required to have a mic, but Mumble must be running for you to properly follow your orders from your commanding officers - having a mic is definitely encouraged. Additionally, if you ever wish to advance into the Officer ranks, you must have a mic. You must be on Mumble to hold a Squad Leader position as well.
Pillar 3: Division Enrollment
You are required to join one of the outfit's three divisions: 555th "Death Angels" (Infantry), Daemon Legion (Spec Ops), or the Fallen Elite Armored Regiment F.E.A.R (Air and Ground Vehicles). Each has their own requirements for membership and you will be expected to follow them once you join. Membership of a division is MANDATORY for ALL members. You may transfer from one division to another at a later date if you so wish, but this is at the discretion of your current and possible future Division Commanders. Usually, Division Commanders will confirm a transfer request very easily – as a courtesy to them, though, you must ask for a transfer. Members should decide which division they would like to join within a week or two of joining the outfit.
Pillar 4: Raid Attendance
There are multiple raids running every week for your enjoyment, but one in particular is required. Our Thursday Outfit Raid is a proud tradition that is required attendance whenever possible, work and scheduling conflicts considered. Also, each division has their respective raids on other days of the week, which may or may not be mandatory for that division. If unable to make these raids, please post in the appropriate area of your division's forums. Additionally, there is a Sunday Fun Raid (SFR) each week: the theme is either voted upon using a poll on the site, auctioned off using the site's User Points program, or chosen by an officer if necessary. Attendance to this raid is not mandatory due to it's ever changing "theme" aspect, although much enjoyment is had by all who do attend.
Pillar 5: Member Conduct
Every member is to treat and show all members of the outfit respect on and off the battlefield. No member shall TK or injure any other member intentionally without that member’s permission (i.e., a duel or “hey, kill me, I’m stuck"). Members are also not to TK or otherwise grief any non-outfit member for any reason with one exception – if that person is endangering an entire GOTR operation. Officers will have the final say in that matter. Members are always to follow the chain of command without question but with suggestion. Members with CR5 shall not use command chat for spamming in any way. CR5s using globals should show respect for the other VS CR5s or not say anything at all, but also support other GOTR commanders in times of votes or target selection. Members of GOTR are held to one of the highest standards of any other outfit in the game – and we are respected for it.
Pillar 6: Regarding Cheating, Hacking, and Exploiting
Absolutely no Cheating, Hacking, or Exploiting of any kind, in any way, shape, or form, is permitted in GOTR. Period. To break this rule, above all others, is grounds for immediate removal from the outfit. There are no second chances.
